CLOSEST AIRPORTS

London Gatwick Airport

London Gatwick is the closest and most convenient airport for travelling to Brighton.

Direct trains operate between Gatwick Airport and Brighton, with an average journey time of approximately 30 minutes. The railway station is located at Gatwick’s South Terminal. Passengers arriving at the North Terminal can use the free terminal shuttle.

London Heathrow Airport

London Heathrow is an alternative option, but it is farther from Brighton. Direct National Express coaches operate between Heathrow Airport and Brighton, with the fastest journeys taking approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes, depending on traffic and the departure terminal.

FROM THE AIRPORT TO YOUR HOTEL

The official hotel accommodation and transportation between the hotels and venue are provided only for registered grounds teams. Partner companies are responsible for arranging and paying for their own accommodation and transportation.

From Gatwick Airport

Follow the signs to the railway station and take a direct Southern or Thameslink train to Brighton Railway Station.

Grounds team guests staying at Leonardo Hotel Brighton:
The hotel is located directly beside Brighton Railway Station.

Grounds team guests staying at Leonardo Royal Hotel Brighton Waterfront:
The hotel is approximately a 15-minute walk from Brighton Railway Station. Guests travelling with luggage may prefer to take a taxi.

From Heathrow Airport

The simplest option is normally a direct National Express coach from Heathrow Airport to Brighton. After arriving in Brighton, continue to your assigned hotel by taxi or on foot, depending on your arrival point and hotel location.

Attendees are responsible for arranging and paying for transportation between the airport and their hotel. TurfTech’s event transportation covers travel between the official hotels and the venue during the event for registered grounds teams only. Transportation for partner companies is not included.

VISA & UK ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

International attendees are responsible for checking and completing the UK entry requirements applicable to their nationality before travelling.

Depending on nationality and immigration status, attendees may require:

  • A UK visa
  • A UK Electronic Travel Authorisation, known as an ETA
  • Existing permission to enter or remain in the United Kingdom

Most visitors require either a visa or an ETA. The current ETA application fee is £20, and every traveller requires their own authorisation. Requirements and fees may change, so attendees must check the official UK Government website before travelling.

VISA INVITATION LETTERS

Registered attendees who require a supporting invitation letter may contact the TurfTech team at [email protected].

The letter can confirm the attendee’s registration, the event dates and the event location. Attendees remain responsible for completing their own visa application, providing the required documents and paying all applicable fees.

A TurfTech invitation letter does not constitute visa sponsorship and does not guarantee that a visa application will be approved.
